Abstract

Breast cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality among women worldwide. Despite advances in surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted therapy, challenges such as toxicity, resistance, and recurrence sustain the need for safer, more effective therapeutic options. Natural compounds, phytochemicals from plants, offer a promising avenue due to their wide availability, lower toxicity potential, and diverse mechanisms of action. This paper provides a comprehensive overview, via meta analysis of preclinical studies and a synthesis of computational studies, of the anticancer potential of natural compounds against breast cancer. We discussed key classes of phytochemicals (flavonoids, triterpenoids, terpenes, polyphenols), their molecular mechanisms (apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, anti angiogenesis, metastasis inhibition, immune modulation), and results from in silico methods (molecular docking, molecular dynamics, ADMET, network pharmacology).
